Where are you? Spiritual Discourse.

Rodney Perry provides spiritual discourse relative to young adults' lives, concerning being confused, making wise decisions, and correcting mistakes. #spiritual#motivational#inspiration#motivationalspeaking

Young adults, you're not alone in your confusion.

It's hard to know exactly what the right thing is to do sometimes, and even harder to figure out what the best way to go about doing it is. But we can help! We'll walk you through some of the more common ways young adults get confused and what they can do about it.

First off, if you're confused about making a wise decision, don't panic! You're not alone—many young adults find themselves in this boat as well. Here are some things you should consider before making any important decisions:

What is my motive for doing this? Is it selfish or unselfish?

What will happen if I don't do this? Will I regret it later?

Is there another way to achieve my goal that would be less harmful to others?

Is there someone who knows more about this than me who might be able to give me advice? (If so, ask them!)

If you've gotten these questions answered and still feel like something isn't right with your decision-making process, there's no shame in seeking guidance from someone else! There are counselors who specialize in helping young adults deal with all sorts of issues such as addiction and relationships gone wrong.

When you're young, life is full of big decisions. It's easy to feel overwhelmed by all that you have to do and all that you don't know about how to do it right. You might get confused about the best way to make a decision, or you might make a mistake and want to correct it.

But there is one thing that can help you navigate the confusion, guide your wise decisions, and correct mistakes: prayer.

Prayer is talking with God. Prayer is listening for God's wisdom in order to live out His will for your life. The Bible says: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5) In other words, trust God when things don't make sense! When you're making decisions about who to date or what job offer to take or even where to live, pray for guidance from God! He will give it if He knows it will be good for you!

And if something goes wrong? Remember that all of us mess up sometimes—even those who are close to us! But we still love them because we know they are capable of loving us back just as much in return.

I have a lot of friends who are just starting out in their careers, and they're all going through the same thing. They're trying to figure out what kind of work is right for them, how to get that work, and how to pay the bills while they do it.

When I got out of college and started applying for jobs, I was filled with anxiety about whether or not I was making the right decisions. What if this job isn't what I want? What if this place doesn't suit me? What if I'm not good enough?

But there were two things that helped me get through those doubts: one was knowing that there would be other opportunities down the line if this one didn't work out; the other was remembering that this was just one step along a long road.

It sounds cheesy to say "it gets better," but it really does get better—if you keep moving forward one step at a time.

We all know that feeling of being lost.

It's the feeling of being in a place you don't belong, surrounded by people who don't understand you, and feeling like you have no idea how to get home.

Sometimes it's just a feeling of not knowing what to do next—of standing at a crossroads and not knowing which way to go. It can be scary, but also exciting and liberating. And it's something we all experience at some point in our lives.

But when you're young—and especially when you're still figuring out what "young" means—it can be even more confusing. You might feel like there are so many options for where your life could go that it's hard to pick one direction over another.

That's okay! Choosing one path over another is an important part of growing up. It means that you're taking charge of your own future rather than letting life happen to you, and that's an exciting thing! But if it feels overwhelming or scary right now, try taking small steps towards whatever it is that interests or inspires you most.

You Don't Have to do this Alone

Remember when you were a kid, and you could just be yourself? When your mom didn't have to worry about whether or not you were eating enough vegetables, or if your friends had eaten their fruit before they left the house. When she didn't have to put out an extra plate of food for an adult who was going to come over for dinner because she was too nervous about what he thought about her cooking—or if he even liked it at all!

And then we became adults, and suddenly everything changed. Suddenly, we had jobs and bills and responsibilities that went beyond getting to school on time and making sure our moms knew we loved them.

And then one day, we realized that maybe the reason why things seemed so much harder than they used to be… is because they actually ARE harder than they used to be. We've got more stuff on our plates than ever before—and some days it feels like there's no room left for anything else at all.

But here's the thing: What if I told you there was room for something else? What if I said that right now, there's a way for you to find out exactly what it is that lights up your life?
